Here is Onyx. He was introduced to us on June 26th. I first noticed this sick looking chick over at my neighbours house, but my attempts to catch him failed. Fortunately, my neighbours were able to catch him, and that night he arrived at my house in time to be medicated before bed. We are now reasonable confident that he has survived his first sickness, he has been treated for coccidiosis and his appetite (and poo) is returned to normal. He seems to have adjusted to us as his new mamas and he now sings when he is sleeping near us, sings when he forages, and enjoys scratching in the dirt. He is a real sweetheart.
Onyx is so comfortable with us that he will false asleep on our hand, or leaning against our fingers.

Onyx enjoys resting and foraging outside.
We put Onyx in the food bucket to help stimulate eating. Like all the chicks we raise, he eats best in the company of other chickens.
