The Tea farm estate where the tea tasting was served. A beautifully designed and decorated house. (This picture taken by Kaori Mitani)The view from the back of the property.
Purple Pekoe plant
Rob served tea Chinese Gong Fu style. The tea was brewed in a chinese cup with a lid, called a gaiwan. All tea was loose leaf and grown and processed at the farm.
Rob pours hot water to brew the tea.
We used aroma cups and tasting cups. The tea was poured into the aroma cups, and then we flipped the tea into a tasting cup and immediately smelled the aroma cup. The aroma cup captures the unique smell to each tea. (This picture taken by Kaori Mitani)
We were even served a few tasty snack. the tea bread was delicious and the lychee fresh from their garden. (This picture taken by Kaori Mitani)
From left to right (black tea, oolong, green tea). Also left to right most oxidized to least oxidized.
Overall we had a great multi sense experience. i would highly recommend this for anyone that enjoys nice scenery, gardens, agrotourism, tea, food experiences, pottery (they have nice dishes and cups) and interesting company. We got back in July for their High Tea!
