Leopard Seal at Taronga Zoo

I like Leopard Seals. They are huge, live in antarctica and have interesting vocalisations, but I would not want to encounter one in the wild. I can imagine me in a comical encounter suit trying to run away, only to slip on the ice, and resembling a fat penguin (if my suit was black) getting quite a thrashing. I think, all my encounter suits better be orange.... better to be a pumpkin than seal food.

Luckily, this one seems rather curious and non-threatening.

Her species is large enough that maybe one day, someone will put a gps tracking device and web cam on them, and finally we may know more about where these solitary animals go, and how they partition their time among different geographical locations.
