Barkerville Chickens

We spent a couple weeks in Canada, and before attending the wedding (the prime reason for the trip) we stopped in Price George and drove down to Barkerville for a visit. Barkerville is a quaint historical gold mining town, and it was all done up as a reconstruction of what Barkerville might have looked like, including chickens running around. I was very happen to see chickens (I missed mine), and was delighted to be greeted by Bob's Canadian cousin Barkerville Bob. He was a little smaller, and his crow was distinctly different. But, of course, he is Canadian, so that would be expected.

Here are a couple of their girls. the black one was named Mydnight. The chickens had coops at the sides of a few of the buildings, and would definitely need to be locked in at night as there are plenty of foxes in the area.
